The
event is hosted annually by Old Mutual Namibia in partnership with the Ministry
of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture and co-sponsors Business
Connexion, Schoemans, Marathon Sugar, Namibia Beverages, OTB Sport and Waltons.
The 11th Annual Old Mutual Far North Championship
Finals took place in Oshakati on in September 2014. The collective commitment,
discipline and hard work of the participating teams have paid off not only in
highlighting each player's skills on the sport field - but also for the
equipping and development of the winning schools too.
The competition addresses not only the
individual sport development opportunities of the players but also contributes
to the educational success of the winners. Feedback in terms of prizes and
overall event organisation is always very positive. The sports equipment and
educational material awarded as prizes are much needed items to uplift
education in the regions.
